Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) Coach Operator Frank Ferrante was nominated by MST in consideration for this year’s Unsung Hero Award at the Annual Community Service Awards held February 15 at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa.
Mr. Ferrante, a 26-year veteran of Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST), has an impressive 24-years of Safe Driving Awards. Driving an average of 23,120 miles per year, that adds up to 554,880 safe miles – or the equivalent of over 22 times around the world. With his average annual passenger count at 34,800 Frank has safely delivered over 835,000 passengers – or the equivalent of the population of San Jose.
Encouraging his family to be involved with the transit community, Frank’s son, Mike worked as an MST driver for six years prior to establishing his own business on the Peninsula. His daughter, Trisha has been a driver for MST the past six years.
Frank is a valued member of the MST organization. He sets high standards for his co-workers and is well respected by them, and the traveling public who depend on MST’s service.
